I’ve been quite harsh about woodys stuff, so much so he finally gave in and sent me a few samples (thanks) so, I’ve decided to review them, essentially, these parts are made by shapeways, effectively a prototyping company. the custom minifig parts arn’t made of traditional ABS plastic and seemed to have been roughly cut by a machine rather than moulded, this gave the plastic a rough finish, but i was surprised at how well the detail kept. that rough finish gave the items a look as if they were made from foam, but they are indeed actually quite solid and will stand up to serious play. I decided to try and sand the items to see if they would smooth down, and whilst they did to a degree, you’re not going to get that abs lego plastic finish, but its smooth enough that you could paint them without the finish looking like foam. as far as the designs go, some of the items were simple, not my personal taste but certainly compatible with LEgo minifigs. personally woody is the only one to have successfully created a lego gas mask, which as this photo shows is pretty darn cool, i’ll certainly be ordering a few myself.
