Made from various lego minifig parts that aren’t really minifigs but stuff like the robots from the star wars series or the skeleton, here’s a cool Lego Wretch custom minifig, the kind you see in the mines, that explode and screetch with yellow mouths. Really cool and original build.

Evolutionary Step custom minifigs by rongYIREN
these are brilliant custom minifigs, totally made from scratch with standard Lego parts, they posses a real Spore-esque look the colour combination is really cool as well, it would be great to see a whole tribe of these custom minifigs.

EVA Pod 04 custom MOC by rob sanderson
a Nice MOC robot, what I really like about this custom MOC is the arms, these are actually minifig arms but check out the connection, its a pretty cool idea and could work for a whole load of other MOCs such as the front arms of a deep sea submarine.

Hazel’s custom minifig parts arrive by timeforacatnap
here we have two of the box of items I ordered off Hazel, i have to say the finish is supurb, I mean these aren’t even toys, you’re looking at display only items here, the quality is beyond Brickarms, and each one is hand painted, it’s only when you hold one that you actually see how well finished these custom minifig parts are.

custom minifig sig-fig by timeforacatnap
Heres me at my desk, yes I actually have three screens for when I work, this isn’t really a custom minifig as its made of standard Lego minifig parts but it is more original than a box fresh Lego minifig.

(Lego minifig firing range by Phillip Block)
I really like this vignette of a custom made Lego minifig firing range, is brilliant particularly the minifig targets, better still on the wall you can see a range of brick arms custom weapons, it would be really cool if this were part of a larger set or scene, with either minifig police or soldiers, that would really make this vignette and the minifig targets stand out.

(custom minifig toilet by Richard brown)
LOL, a minifig toilet, it looks really cool, interstingly it uses the life buoy piece which I have to admit is a rather inpratical Lego piece, other things to note are the tissue in the minifigs hand and the toilet roll, which is made from a Lego part, even the cistern has a flush buttom

Lego custom minifig saints by alava212
I really like these two Lego custom minifig saints, it looks like the Lego Life buoys have been used to make halos which is really origian, additionally there is some good use of fabric parts and the key and sword are both standard Lego, but I;m guessing they’ve been painted gold, I think these two custom minifig saints are part of a vignette, and the setting and build of the walls and plinths these minifigs stand on is really good as well, inspires me to want to make something similar.

Arbiter custom MOC minifig by odst7
This is an interesting Abiter (i’m not sure what that is), anyways totally custom made from Lego parts, i particularly like the hoofed legs, pretty cool, i’m guessing you could potentially take the Legos off this MOC and use them on a custom minifig looking at how they are constructed at the waist.

(Lego samurai MOC by kv_draugaer)
This brilliant Lego MOC samurai is larger that minifig scale, but no less custom made, and you’ll notice there is a minifig hand as a crest on the helmet, and a disproportionately small minifig head.

(Lego aquarium villa MOC by dh-l)
If you’ve imagined the Play boy mansion on the inside, this Lego MOC will give you a good idea of what the interior of the Playboy mansion, or even any massive super rich mansion would look like.
the attention to detail and structure is astounding, sadly there are no custom minifigs in it, but it would be really cool if there was a Lego minifig party happening in the Lego playboy mansion, find more pics here.

(custom minifig Lego fridge by nolnet)
Customizing Lego minifigs are great on their own, but whats really great is when you can use these custom minifigs, like in a vignette, and part of making a custom minifig vignette is having decent Lego accessories, more often than not you’ll need to get creative with your Lego and create most of your accessories, particularly if you want more realistic parts such as this custom minifig Lego fridge, which is why Nolnet’s instructions on how to make a custom minifig Lego fridge is so useful.

One of the Most elusive custom minifig modders I’ve come accross is Hazel, I can’t seem to find much on they guy, other that some of the most incredible and detailed custom minifigs I’ve ever come accross, it seems that Hazel is based out of south east asia, in Hong Kong and/or Japan, and with classic asian skill in detail the figures that really made an impact on the custom minifig community were Hazel’s gears of war custom minifigs, Hazel is also some how associated with Amazing Armoury and most of Hazel’s custom minifigs are shown with the tag – ‘custom by Hazel’
Hazel usually goes by Hazel – Fantasy and his works include MOCs, custom minfigs and custom minifig parts and weapons. His work has also been featured in Dengeki Brick magazine in 2008 (issue 12)
The custom parts by Hazel seem to be made in small custom runs and are probably highly sought after collectibles, It seems that aside from a very small Brick Link store, found here. Most orders are placed for Hazel’s custom minifig parts via the Amazing Armoury flickr profile or Hazel’s Hazel Fantasy profile.
I’m trying to get in touch with Hazel to do an interview and also to buy some of his work, so if any of you have every dealt with Hazel, please do get in touch!
