(RAMM 1st Aufklärung Trupp custom minifigs by Mdrn~Mrvls)
There’s two movements in minifig customization, thoses that believe it’s ok to cut and modify standard Lego, and even use other parts to customize Lego, and those that believe is keeping everything Lego based, neither is correct, rather its a preference, the bottom line is that you can use either ‘school’ to create interesting and unique custom minifigs, that this RAMM, 1st Aufklärung Trupp, its a purist piece, ie. made only from Lego parts, but the minifigs are not only really cool, each is unique from the other. Better yet this is a good example of how to make a group of uniformed custom minifigs different from each other whilst keeping the theme together. Point to note even the custom minifig weapons are made from existing Lego parts, in particular the weapons from the Star Wars minifigs.
(Lego custom minifig female castaway by doctorkile)
This is a nice female custom minifig castaway, i don’t think the Lego parts have been customized and I suspect they are all genuine Lego parts, whats really nice is how they have been combined given the sheer volume of choice you would have to make a custom minifig, interestingly Lego rarely produces female minifigs, and the two key defining features that distinguish a male from female minifig are the torso decal, head decal and hair parts.
(lego edward scissorhands custom minifig by corran101)
This is a really nice custom minifig, check out the way the scissorhand on this Lego Edward have been made using Lego hands and the Lego minifig spanner, also, notice the Lego hair from the Manga inspired Exoforce Lego series. Whats really nice about this custom minifig is the decal on the minifigs torso, and combination of the hair, head and body parts, this would look great in a full scale vignette!
(Corporation HALO Specialist custom minifig by jasbrick)
Jasbrick has done it again, this is by far one of the best custom minifigs I’ve seen, the mask is modified, the helmet is modified, the chest piece is Sluban, and modified, the weapons are Brick arms and the rifle is modified, what I really like in particular is the backback and emergency chute on the custom minifig, its brilliant, all I can hope is that Jasbrick will find the time to a. get me one of these, and b. make an ebook on how these are made.
(Lego custom minifig armed priest by Nirdian)
I found this custom minifig looking for stuff to blog on the site about, and it’s definately not one I made, the decals are custom made, but most of the other parts, turban, and beard are Lego made, whist the Weapon is, as usual, brick arms made.
