This Ninja Emile Custom Minifigure comes with a challenge from Geoshift:

There is a story behind this one that basically comes down to a single point: it is a table scrap.

In this instance I’m referring to the type of build that kind of just sits around on your table for a long period of time, getting a bit of attention occasionally, but never quite being finished. This one sat on my customizing desk for about 9 months as many other builds were started and completed!

Basically, at the time when this began I only had one of the carved Brick Affliction Emile helmets left and I wanted to use it for something. But, I had already done a couple other builds with that helmet design, so it had to be something different and unique.

Ideas came and went, as did the months on the calendar, and there it sat…incomplete. It endured a couple failed design attempts and appeared to be destined for the lost land of unfinished customs. Then one day I decided to turn this build into a little design challenge for myself and finish it at all costs, regardless of the outcome…and soon a new idea was born.

You can combine almost anything with Ninjas and it will usually be cool (and fun), so he became “Ninja Emile”. It all centered around that funny thought and an unrealistic, unlikely, hardly fit for public consumption table scrap has now seen the light of day and been made whole. I kind of like the result (even though it is a bit odd!).

So, do you have a few table scraps sitting in your work area? A few “work-in-progress” builds that have been that way entirely too long?

My challenge to my fellow customizers is to pick one of those, finish it, post it and tell us about the process. Do your best and don’t worry if it isn’t up to the standards of your best builds. Flex those creative muscles and have fun.

Whiskey Squad Custom Minifigures

Whiskey Squad is the name of the Gears of War squad that I created in LEGO form almost two years ago. Well, a lot has changed since then, both with Lego customization techniques and the squad itself.

Times have not been easy since the sinking of Jacinto and some in Whiskey Squad did not survive. The squad originally consisted of 4 Gears, Hondo (squad leader), Deuce, Gideon and Teroch.

Over time, while battling Lambent and groups of Locust renegades, two members of the squad were lost. Teroch was killed while battling a Lambent Berserker, after being separated from the rest of the squad in a massive battle. The leader, Hondo was also killed during that same conflict.

Eventually two new members joined the squad (they were also the remaining survivors from their former squad). Their names are Anders (the new squad leader) and Tiberius. Now, with a full roster once again, Whiskey Squad continues their battle against the forces that threaten humanity.

What really stands-out with these Whiskey Squad minifigures is the orange and red colour scheme on the custom armour LEGO pieces. The painted detailing is fantastic and the weapons are awesome.

Geoshift is always raising the bar, and if you are thinking about starting minifig customisation we definitely recommend looking at his other customs.

Finally the background and photograph sets the scene nicely and showcases his work.

Halo 4 Red Team Custom Minifigure

Inspired by the released of Halo 4 comes this amazing Red Team custom minifigure. Halo 4 is the first installment in a new trilogy of Halo series games, named the “Reclaimer Trilogy”. The new game features updated versions of UNSC and Covenant weaponry from previous Halo games, as well as introducing new weapons and an arsenal of Forerunner guns wielded by Prometheans.

This is a fantastic painted minifigure finished off with lovely photography. Using legs from eclipseGrafx they fit perfectly with the amazing Brick Affliction armour.

Geoshift used Formula P3 paint which was then watered-down and mixed with a Red wash from Vallejo.

Beautifully done and nicely presented!

Gears Of War Custom Minifigure By Geoshift

Inspired by the military science fiction third-person shooter video game Gears Of War this custom minifigure is excellent and the photograph really sets the scene.

I was going for a gritty look with this photo, which seems to fit the Gears universe. As with most customs, this one looks a lot better in person, but hopefully you get the idea!

The combination of LEGO pieces work well together and the painted detailing is of the highest standard especially the green and silver combination on the helmet and armour. Also the lancer with the painted blood splatter looks fantastic.

The terrain and scenery is from Wargames such as 40K and Warmachine which is then painted to fit the scene.

We Are Gears Custom Minifigures

Geoshift has just done an update on his Gears Of War Squad named Whiskey Squad. This is a sneak peak of one of those custom minifigures, Gideon (on the left) and is his first new version of one of the squad members. The rest of the squad will be done throughout the summer and maybe into the Autumn as new Brick Affliction parts are released, so we look forward to see them.

As always with Geoshift custom’s, the armour looks awesome with amazing painted detailing, and the weapons look great too!
