Banksy is a popular street graffiti artist primarily popular in the UK, whats really great about Lego and custom minifig is the way that Lego reflects the real world and this Lego Banksy decal, placed on a Lego wall is the perfect scaled down version, and seems perfect for the Lego environment, the key thing to remember here is that this shows the level of detail and the potential of using custom minifig decals in your Lego projects.

These two photos show how main stream media has clearly had an impact on the way Lego minfig builders have translated this into Lego, Steve Jobs is shown in the second photo with a minfig ipod, whilst the first photo shows a beautiful white minifig with the distinctive click wheel of the ipod as a decal on it. This actually speaks volumes about how to build custom minifigs, because Lego simplifies things, any custom parts also need to be simplified to the core basics to illustrate the object and make it recoginzable, if the object was to be designed too detailed it wouldn’t work well with Lego, if it was too simplified it wouldn’t be recognizable.

Check out this Lego custom minifig head, the eyes and mouth were cut out and an LED inserted in to the  Lego custom minifig head, the LED is then powered by a small battery that would fit inside the torse of a Lego custom minifig, it’s very effective and could really enhance a Lego vignette, but it would also limit how much you could do with the Lego custom minifig after this modification.

Its easy to get carried away being a fan of Lego, but some Lego fans take it a little too far, take this example,  this care is totally covered in real Lego bricks, not stickers, but the actual solid bricks, you can tell these are real bricks ehn you look at the edges. It looks really cool, but I have to admit, there is something a little too obsessive about it, if it were just a sticker it wouldn’t be so obessive, but then it wouldn’t have that wow factor.I suppose whilst its cool there is the safetly factor of having so much plastic on a car, surely it could all melt.

Yes, yes, I know this is the second vignette I’ve written about on custom minifig, but lets be clear these Lego vingettes are pretty darn impressive, take this Lego Star Wars Custom Minifig Planet Hoth Vignette by Brick plumber, talk  about dedication and artistic prowess. It’s 5 feet by 10 feet large, and has over 60,000 Lego pieces, took 4 years to make and recently won a star wars building challenge and got featured in the Lego magazine. Pretty impressive.

Despite the scale the details within the vignette are equally impressive, there are 50 real lights, and some remote controlled mechanism, that allows that AT-ATs to deploy Lego minifig storm troopers.

As you can see there is no shorteage on minifig size details, not least there are foot prints in the snow, several ‘mini vignettes’ in parts of the vignette, such as the one above, the detail on this Lego Star Wars Custom Minifig Planet Hoth Vignette is so hight that there’s even two types of snow, the un ground up powder (smooth), versus the well trampled rough snow! Whilst this site is about custom minifigs rather than Lego mocs, on my search for amazing custom Lego minifigs, i came across this custom Lego police station packed with all sorts of amazing detail, I simply had to share it with the readers of custom minifig, if only to wow you with the sheer amount of detail and effort thats gone into it. Aside from being impressive, there are several custom minifigs within the building and an extensive armoury choaked full of Brick arms custom minifig weapons, the Lego custom police station was made by laureano.

Hi everyone, whilst Custom Minifig is only a few weeks old, Christmas is already nearly upon us so in true Christmas Spirit, custom minifig would like to wish all you Lego custom minifig fans a very merry christmas!

And in true Christmas spirit, here’s a brilliant vignette of a nativity scene, not only made of lego custom minifigs, but one of the most popular Lego minifig series – Starwars, so here you go, a Lego vignette of custom starwars Lego minifigs!

 

Custom MiniFig was created on the 13th of December 2008, I created this Lego Fan Blog after seeing a custom MiniFig in a newspaper article. As a kid I remember wanting custom Lego minifigs, and my grand father used to get a felt pen and draw on Lego MiniFigs to keep me happy, this was long before Lego placed decals on their minifigs, and the minifigs Only had a flat colour, now Lego has minifigs designed for some of the best films created, including, Star Wars, Speed Racer, Sponge Bob Square Pants and Indiana Jones to name a few.

I hadn’t realized that there was such an active and close knit Lego community and the main reason for my building this site is to share and spread the good word about Lego, no matter what your age.

Custom MiniFig as the name suggests is about customizing lego minifigs, we’ll leave the MOC’s (My Own Creations- Lego Speak for self designed constructions) for the other sites, this site is dedicated to fans of that iconic Lego Man and the infinite possibilities presented by the worlds most timeless and famous toy.
