Brickarms brickfest 09

This is what you will see at brickfest, yes after months of waiting you will be able to buy new items from the MGL to the Rapier. Also there will be a section with multicolored brickarms, there are green, light gray, gold, and silver guns of various types. A little advice to all you guys that are going to brickfest, run straight to the brickarms section, after like 10 minutes they will all be gone.

And as you know jasbrick is one of the best minifig customatiors, he sent a couple to Will, and Wliked them pretty much.  He even liked them so much, he used on on his badge!

And as you know, brickarms is currently offline, and they will go online aprill 6th, and there will be new items in stock!

LEGO D-DAY 2 PARATROOPERS lego animation movie

Now here’s a great lego animation, and I think Ken will like this (he loves paratroopers) it’s a animation about a paratrooper in ww2, it could be better but right now this is the best you can find on the web. The main reason this was intresting is the elite forces in the end, notice the very detailed berets, would love to see one of those become real ABS products. Here is the link to the youtube video if you want to watch it there.

Micro minifigs

(Micro minifigs by Luis Baixinho)

These are funny, they are supposed to be Micro minifigs, or mini minifigs, i’m not sure… put simply they are funny, they could be toys for a minifig, and are part of a growing scene in Lego building, micro scale.you can see just how small these micro figs are not only by the Lego bricks used to make them but also by the size of the minifig accessories next to them

custom minifig painted faces

Its surprising how detailed you can be when it comes to decals, in this case these custom faces were painted on using acrylic paint and coated with a matt varnish, but you have to have a loik at the detail in these minifigs, additionally this means that your options when it comes to the expressions on a custom minifig, can be totally endless, only limited by your imagination.

It looks like even in Lego world, the creidt crunh is having a dramatic effect on these Lego traders, Interestingly, Lego as a company are still growing so we Lego minifig fans have nothing to worry about. Still the economic outlook isnt good and you’ll be its going to be a worrying time for all of us.

Lt. Croe

Lt. Croe (by tekka croe)

Yet another nice fig by tekka croe, this shows tekka croes second talent, drawing. This fig is very unique and have custom decals all over the fig, the helmet is also custom and painted. The pistol is from (nothing else then) brickarms. And, that’s all I have to say, 5 out of 5, 2 thumbs up, badass, ten stars and awesome, there are many words that can describe this. And I think tekka should get his ands on some of the brickforge space marines, he could make some great decals for them.

Damien Hirst’s ‘The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living’ In Lego

Published by Custom MiniFigs under Art, Custom MiniFig

Damien Hurst is one hell of an artist, but he doesn’t work in Lego, that doesn’t mean he can escape Lego customizers though and theres a Lego art exhibition, complete with Lego minifig viewers and his famous shark in a tank thingy, if you ask me, the minifig is a bit drunk…maybe he’s sad, he’s not a custom minifig? Actually I think its Damien Hrst, but I can’t be sure. Still the wine glass in his hand is a good touch!

Lego colour spectrum minifigs

 Lego colour spectrum minifigs

(Lego colour spectrum minifigs by Holodoc)

seeing as today is the first day of President Obama, I thought it relevant to bring up that taboo topic of colour, see colour doesn’t matter, not in a presidency or in Lego, infact, at least in the case of Lego, colour helps make these minifigs stand out, colour helps enhance these minifigs. Whats interesting is that Lego doesn’t actually make flat coloured minifigs, you have to custom make flat coloured minifigs, sourcing the torso, legs, arms, head and accessories of the minifig independently, hence why I would put these in the category of custom minifigs.

Interestingly there is a cool custom minifig of Holodoc, a sigfig if you like, and its got a custom decal as well, a la star trek.

These are really cool custom minifig scale scooters, the seem to be totally custom mafe with rubber rimmed detachable wheels, whilst the rest of the mopeds body is made of a single plastic piece, these look really great, and you can imagine a whole load of custom minifig Lego Mods and rockers rolling around a Lego London!

Lego Street Performing Mime custom minifig

(Lego Street Performing Mime custom minifig by Erdbeereis1)

OK, so this isn’t as impressive as Jasbricks stuff or Hazels stuff, but lets face it  Lego minifig customization doesn’t need to be revolutionary or amazing, its about having fun and experimenting with Lego and exploring potential, which is why this vignette of a Lego Street Performing Mime custom minifig is really nice, just a different coloured torse and arms and a unique Lego head and voia la! cool looking minifig.

Lego Helmets

Published by Custom MiniFigs under Accessories, Art

Lego Helmets

(Lego minifig helmets by unknown)

This photo is awesome, not just from an artistic perspective but also from the contents, here we see an amazing stack of Lego minifig scale helmets and the structure of the inside of the helmets, Lego military helmets like the one shown are really popular with custom minifig builders who create world war 2 vignettes. Brickarms and Brick forge supply a good range of Lego minifig helmets for several time periods, including roman, world war 1, world war 2 and modern. Additionally there are the usual fantasy and sci-fi genres as well. Minifig helmets add an extra level of customization and personality to a custom minifig which should at least be considered when you’re designing your custom minifig.

All Black custom Lego Minifig army

All Black custom Lego Minifig army

(all black lego minifig army by unknown)

Decals and colour add personality and uniqueness to minifigs, they help bring out the story telling effect of minifigs, however flat colour minifigs seem more artistic, statue like if you will, however, in their faceless nature flat colour minifigs are really cool, they speak volumes for the shape and form of the minfig rather than express personality. As such using flat colour minifigs can be really powerful especially in a photographic and architectural/artistic way.
