we’ve covered roman legion custom minifigs in the bast, however regardless all great custom minifigs deserve to be on custom minifig, and this is no exception, with its fairly decent paint job and creative use of Lego parts for legs, it looks good and its creative and thats what matters.

Wolverine custom minifig with claws

Whilst these claws are from Mega Bloks they look great and work very well with this current combination of lego parts, seeing as this is a cuatom minifig site, it really doesn’t matter that the claws are from megabloks, if it works, it works, some will look better than others but the idea of custom minifigs is to get creative, not restrict creativity.

Brickarms brickfest 09

This is what you will see at brickfest, yes after months of waiting you will be able to buy new items from the MGL to the Rapier. Also there will be a section with multicolored brickarms, there are green, light gray, gold, and silver guns of various types. A little advice to all you guys that are going to brickfest, run straight to the brickarms section, after like 10 minutes they will all be gone.

And as you know jasbrick is one of the best minifig customatiors, he sent a couple to Will, and Wliked them pretty much.  He even liked them so much, he used on on his badge!

And as you know, brickarms is currently offline, and they will go online aprill 6th, and there will be new items in stock!

Lego used in Augmented reality

Published by Custom MiniFigs under Custom MiniFig

Augmented Reality Toys.v1 (Work in progress) from Frantz Lasorne on Vimeo.

It’s not surprising that Lego minifigs and inparticular Lego custom minifigs can be use for table games, not just snakes and ladders or chess, but more completex table top war games, such as Brikwars or even warhammer Given that all these boardgames need minature representations and particularly in the case of warhammer, there are multiple weapon combinations, and the pieces are really expensive, it seems only natural that custom minifigs could be used as playing pieces, not only to save money, but also so that different models can be represented simply by using different custom accessories that clip on to the minifigs.

Now consider, video games have taken the boardgame world into the digital arena, but lets face it whilst its visually stunning and looks brilliant, its intangible, and not very interactive with it comes to playing agianst friends, however if you look at this video, you’ll see two Lego minifigs used to represent playing pieces in some sort of video board game. The AR TUI allows for the concept to push forth the virtual parameters commonly used in video games like power, life, magic, experience, attack, weapons etc. The objective of this project is to create an imaginative and engrossing environment while still creating value for old discarded toys. Its kinda like tabletop war-game and a strategy video game coming together.

Frantz describes the game play as follows:

- Each player is equipped with a toy standing on a base  ie lego custom minifig and Augmented Reality glasses (Head mounted display).
- Before the game begins, players can equip their respective lego custom minifigs with different capacities (health, shield, camouflage, weapons) on a limited number.
- Then, players can prepare together the battlefield (game space) with real objects.
- Both players start on both sides of the battlefield and the party can now begin.
- The game is turn-based, players play successively in a limited time.
- They can alternately move, attack, heal, use stealth, protect themselves with shields, switch weapons etc.
- Each weapon has a specific range of distance and a special power.
- Real obstacles can obstruct the field of vision allowing players to hide themselves.
- The goal is to kill his opponent by strategically using all possibilities of game.

what would be even cooler is if each minifig had a chip in their legos, and the board table was made up onf lego studs with LEDs and connectors, this would be amazing as all of a sudden you wouldn’t need the glasses, instead you would have a screen at each end of the playing table with the minifigs stats and abilities and the gaming table with its LEDs would light up to show range and so forth, that would be really cool and equally the concept could be taken to any tabletop board game.

Lego Simpsons Intro

Published by Custom MiniFigs under Custom MiniFig

The simpsons rock, they are iconic of our time and their funny but adult humor is fantastic, so its really good to see someone try and create that all famous intro into the Simpsons out of Lego, the only criticism I have about this Lego Simpsons Intro is the minifigs could have been more custom, it seems like they weren’t worked on enough considering its the characters that really make the simpsons great.

Brickarms Luger P08 custom minifig pistol
Brickarms Luger P08 custom minifig pistol by The Ranger of Awesomeness

the Luger was the famous pistol used by the german Nazis in WWII, give the popularity and easy of getting Lego minifig parts to make custom minifigs, i’m surprised its taken this long for a Luger to be made, additionally the Lego minifigs arms that holds it us an easy customization that doesn’t work too badly, the only downside to the Brickarms Luger is its a little lacking in detail, but that being said all the important parts are there.

BrickArms BuzzGun sawgun

BrickArms BuzzGun sawgun
BrickArms BuzzGun sawgun by enigmabadger

I was surprised to see brick arms releasing this ‘buzzgun’ which bears an uncanny resemblanceto Hazels saw gun, which you can buy from our own minifig shop.

it’s missing a lot of the detail compared with the Hazel one, but the front does have a handle. this being said, the brick arms saw guns is a little more geared towards regular play rather than display, the one bit that i really don’t like howver is the rather pathetic looking blade, which could do with being bigger. Aside from that the shape looks the same as Hazels saw gun and its pretty decent.
